Ingredients

  • 1
    cup
    prunes
  • 1
    ounce
    bittersweet chocolate

  • cup
    butter
    or shortening
  • 2
    large eggs
  • 1
    cup
    granulated sugar
  • 1
    teaspoon

    vanilla extract
  • ¾
    cup
    all-purpose flour
  • ½
    teaspoon
    salt
  • ½
    teaspoon
    baking powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350℉ and grease an 8 or 9-inch square pan.
  2. Finely dice 1 cup prunes. If they feel at all dry, soak them in some warm water and drain before using.
  3. Melt together the 1 ounce bittersweet chocolate and ⅓ cup butter. You can do this in a double boiler or the microwave. Allow to cool slightly.
