The beauty of crostini begins with simple, thinly sliced baguette, which is then transformed into a crispy foundation for a myriad of exciting toppings. We’ve explored many delightful variations, such as our ever-popular Ham and Cheese Crostini, a consistent hit with our family and friends. But the quest for new and exciting flavor combinations is an ongoing culinary adventure, and this led us to ponder the exquisite possibilities of seafood.

It felt like the perfect moment to create something truly special with shrimp, one of our absolute favorite foods. We envisioned a vibrant, fresh, and slightly zesty concoction that would perfectly complement the delicate sweetness of shrimp. The inspiration naturally drifted towards those bright and bold Southwestern flavors – the invigorating zing of lime, the aromatic whisper of fresh cilantro, a subtle kick from chili powder, and the luxurious creaminess of avocado. These elements, when brought together, promised a truly unique and memorable profile.

The idea was simple yet brilliant: take this harmonious blend of shrimp, avocado, and Southwestern-inspired seasonings, and pile it generously atop crisp, flavorful garlic toast bites. The result was nothing short of spectacular. It was no surprise that my husband and son, discerning palates that they are, instantly fell in love with these crostini. And, of course, I did too! The combination was an instant classic in our home, embodying everything we love about fresh, easy, and incredibly tasty food.
