Ingredients
Cake
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup water
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 1½ cups packed brown sugar
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs beaten
- ½ cup sour cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips frozen
Icing
- ½ cup butter
- ¼ cup milk
- 4½ cups powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ¾ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
13 x 18 inch rectangle, 1 inch height
Instructions
Sheet Cake
- Preheat the oven to 375°F and grease a 13x18x1 half sheet cake pan.
- Bring butter and water to a boil in a large saucepan.
1 cup unsalted butter, 1 cup water - Remove from heat and stir in the sugars.
1½ cups packed brown sugar, ½ cup granulated sugar - Add the remaining ingredients excluding the chocolate chips.
2 cups all purpose flour, 2 large eggs, ½ cup sour cream, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, 1 teaspoon baking soda, 1 teaspoon salt - Let the batter cool for a few minutes, then stir in frozen chips.
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips - Pour into prepared pan and bake for about 22 minutes or until done.

- Bring the butter and milk to a boil in a large sauce pan.
½ cup butter, ¼ cup milk - Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract and powdered sugar.
